How does this trip differ from a regular summer trip?
The daily itinerary and time spent hiking are much the same on this trip as it is for our regular Summer Adventure program. The difference is the elevated dining and beverage experiences that you will enjoy. This trip takes our already-stellar dining program and amplifies it even more. It also includes featured drink pairings from three special beverage partners to accompany your meal each evening.
Can I participate in the via ferrata on this trip?
Yes! Guests will have the opportunity to participate in our Via Ferrata on this trip. Please note: the minimum age to participate in a via ferrata is 12 years old. Based on the safety guidelines of our equipment used on the via ferrata, the minimum weight limit is 100 lbs. and the maximum weight limit is 280 lbs. Participation in the Via Ferrata is at the discretion of the Area Management team.
I’m a vegetarian, vegan, or have other dietary requirements. What can I expect?
You can expect the same level of elevated dining experience as any other guest. You will receive an equal number of courses, quality and choice. Please inform your CMH sales agent of your requirements at the time of booking, and your needs will be fully incorporated.
Where will the ingredients for this trip come from?
You can expect an immersive regional and seasonal Canadian dining experience. The ingredients for the food and drink you’ll enjoy will be sourced from British Columbia and Alberta in every instance possible.
Are the featured drink pairings unlimited?
Each night, a featured drink partner will provide specific drinks to enjoy (these are included in the trip price). Though not unlimited, there will be plenty available for each guest! If you wish to drink above and beyond the included feature drink pairings, the CMH bar is available for you to buy additional alcoholic beverages (regular CMH bar prices apply).
I don’t drink alcohol, or I’m allergic to some types of alcohol. Can I still come?
Of course! Our team is happy to provide mocktails or a suitable substitute based on your needs. Please inform your CMH sales agent of your requirements at the time of booking.
Will I receive a discounted rate if I don’t drink on the trip?
No. There are no discounted rates based on food/drink preferences. However, we are confident we can make your experience exceptional, with or without alcohol!
Is there a dress code at dinner?
Wear what you feel comfortable in. Our guests generally come to dinner dressed “mountain-casual.” Think along the lines of clean pants and a nice shirt or sweater. Feel free to leave your formal satin dresses and tuxedos at home; that’s not how we roll!
Will we encounter wildlife?
In all of our trips, we strive to avoid any contact with wildlife. However, our guides are trained in safely dealing with wildlife encounters, should one occur.
How many helicopter trips will I get to take?
In addition to your heli trips to and from the lodge, each day offers the chance to heli to new adventures – with unprecedented access. On average, you can expect two or three helicopter trips per day, depending on your preference and weather conditions.
What happens when nature calls and we’re on the trail?
We hike and explore remote areas where there are no conventional washrooms. Mother Nature provides trees and rocks for privacy. We recommend bringing toilet paper and a ziplock bag. Paper used in the field can be disposed of back at the lodge.
Are gratuities included?
The CMH team is committed to ensuring that you enjoy the trip of a lifetime. While gratuities are not included in your trip fees – nor are they mandatory – they may be offered on a voluntary basis. Gratuities are divided among all of the lodge staff and your pilot.
How do I arrange a private group booking?
Private bookings are a great way to share the magic of a summer heli-hiking adventure with a group. Call our planning experts to arrange the details of all-to-yourself bookings for privately guided trips.
Your trip highlights
Your days will focus on both dining and exploring. Enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared each morning by your in-house chef, before flying to the surrounding landscape to hike stunning alpine meadows, walk ridgelines, or scale the via ferrata. You’ll do so with a small number of other like-minded foodies on your trip, as well as the hosting chefs and beverage experts. After a day hiking, return to the lodge to enjoy mouthwatering meals and perfectly paired drinks.
